Quality in-room music and video systems, soft carpeting, plush bathrobes, pampering personal care products and friendly concerned nursing staff contribute to an atmosphere that encourages rest and healing.

Dining and Hospitality Services

Being sick, worried, or uncomfortable can put a damper on one’s appetite. All meals at OakLeaf are individually prepared with the patient’s personal tastes, dietary needs and special requirements taken into consideration. At OakLeaf Surgical Hospital the patient decides when and what they would like to eat. Patients select from a Room Service menu that offers an array of entrees along with fresh fruits, vegetables, salads and bakery. Eating nutritiously contributes to a speedy recovery. Eating foods that are pleasing to the palate can boost the spirit as well.

Friends and family may order from the menu and eat with the patient, or step down the hall to The Bistro. And, it’s not your imagination if you smell the aroma of fresh baked cookies, emerging from the oven each afternoon and served with a smile by the chef in charge.

The Bistro

With its small sidewalk café appeal, The Bistro extends an invitation to OakLeaf Surgical Hospital visitors to sit, have a bite to eat and collect one’s thoughts. Complimentary coffee, tea and snacks are available throughout the day for family members.

The Bistro and kitchen are open 7am - 7pm daily.

Wireless Internet

No matter how you plan for a surgical procedure, it can be a disruption in the daily routine of the patient and of those accompanying them. OakLeaf Surgical Hospital understands that communicating with family and friends on the day of surgery, or staying in touch with the workplace, can be invaluable. For this reason, the hospital campus provides free high-speed wireless internet services on site. Two computer terminals with internet capabilities are conveniently located in the surgical hospital lobby area and another terminal is in the Bistro.

All OLSH waiting areas, the Bistro and patient rooms have wireless internet access should a family member or friend wish to use their personal laptop.

Personal Paging System

Friends or family can be given a pager which allows them to be free to move about the hospital waiting area, Bistro or can be taken to Oakwood Mall. The use of pagers allows friends and family to be within a few minutes of the hospital and can be contacted regarding the status of surgery, meeting with the surgeon after surgery, etc.
